Got me thinkin on it..the crane was still "coated", so busted out the Brake Parts cleaner...the chlorinated one...thinking it may be stronger. Whatever the coating was/is...brake parts cleaner don't do anything at all to it!! Some tough stuff, leads me to wonder just what in the world this particular piece went thru to make it appear the way it did!!!
