Does anyone make a solid black front sight for the DW44?  Ramp, patridge, undercut--I don't care, just no inserts or contrast enhancements, and not stainless. I can't find any on the web, and CZ's website is returning an error when I try to access their sales department.

Thanks,

Jim

Geminiman can cut you one from carbon steel and you can blue it.  I have a few of his sights and they are excellent quality.

I just bought my first DW 357. It is shooting high and the rear sight is full down. I would like to try a taller front sight. What are my options?

There have been some post on this same subject. A few things to try are

1. Try some different ammo, heavier, lighter, faster or slower

2. Adjusting the barrel to cylinder gap, more or less .002 to .006.

watch out, if gap is to tight cylinder will bind/drag on barrel

3. Replacing the front sight with taller sight. here is link to to parts and service thread

https://www.danwessonforum.com/?page_id=3/parts-and-service/

4. You can order one from member Geminiman

Thanks SHOOT!  Sent him a PM.

I think in the meantime I will knock out that stupid insert, have someone weld it up, and then blast it with Krylon.  (Did I mention I'm a bit perturbed with the current sight?  Yesterday was the first time I've shot my .44 in typical summer sunlight, and the top third of the sight just . . . wasn't clearly visible.  I managed to shoot a 10 shot 50 yard group that was about an inch wide and almost 8" tall.  Mad)
