I normally cast all my own stuff, but lead is getting tougher to get, my time is worth more, etc.  At 10 cents each it's hard to pass up factory bullets anymore.

These guys are in my hometown.

I may pick up 500 of something and give them a shot.

I'm interested in learning more.  That like came up broken, can you double check?

I gotta admit that I love the science and technology of casting and coating my own, but fall victim to the already aforementioned time versus benefit argument every time. Lately I'm getting my projectiles from Missouri Bullet Company, with their new coating.

Interesting, they are using the same Hi-Tek coating that MBC is using and have comparable pricing too.
$10.50 / 100 = 10.5 cents @
$43.75 / 500 = 8.75 cents @
$198 / 2,500 = 7.92 cents @

I also use the 158-gr. SWC and paid $43 / 500 (8.6 cents @).

well, I ended up ordering 1500 of their 165 gr 10mm bullets because they were on sale and I got them for 9 cents each--hard to beat.  "patriot pack" mix of red/white/blue bullets...

165 is kind of light for 10mm, but I already came up with a good 1000 FPS target load with plated bullets that should work well.

I've been using coated bullets in my 1911 for a few months now.  I like em.  No barrel leading and they seem to be pretty accurate.
