anyone try using a rear sight off of a S&W L frame? after comparing my 686 and 14-2 side by side the frames are pretty much identical in shape from the front, top strap, hammer and trigger guard, just wondering if anyone has modded a 14-2 for adjustable rear sightsÂ

I would trade the 14-2 for a 15-2.
After the money into machining and the Smitty sight I'm not sure the value would be added to the gun.
Removing metal from old guns makes me cringe. Â That's just me.

Not too many months ago, there was a model 14 on Gunbroker that definitely appeared to have been fitted with a S&W type rear sight. In the pics it looked like a very nice machining job and looked like a nice fit. I know it was discussed somewhere around here but I can't remember the thread title.
