I thought this was stainless, but no, it's "in the white".  The mark is from a blueing touch up pen. So, I had to buy it.  Project time........DW-414-Cylinder.jpgImage Enlarger

The cylinder came from their parts bin.  Who knows how long they've had it.  To be in the white would lead me to wonder if they ever planned to come out with a blued .414?

Norwich did make a blue 414. Stinger has one. I think 80×80 is correct.

I remember someone here has a blue .414SM. Mine is one of the original Palmer 25, all stainless.

I've never seen a Blued .414 but if it's Norwich, that's probably why.  I've always focused on the Monson facility firearms.  Only because that's where I started.

Ron, the small frame Norwich guns, are fabulous. Time to branch out. The large frame and Supermags are great too but so are the Palmer and Palmer made Monson stamped guns.

I'd never even heard of the .414 - I'm not a silhouette shooter, so I guess that's no surprise.  I had to go look it up - nice bit of firearms learning for the day!

Phil, that's just showing off....  Very Nice!

So, since I have the brass and cylinder already I'm having to make the gun.  I cut and re-threaded a .41 cal barrel to fit the frame of an extra 357 maximum I had laying around. Sending of the cylinder and barrel for bluing and then will assemble and shoot.  I intend to hunt with it this fall.  We'll see how life shakes out for me....

The .414 is an excellent hunting round.  Look forward to seeing the finished product!

I've been away for almost a year, so I know this is an old thread - but wow - what an amazing DW.
