Just got back from the range. Tried out, for first time, all four barrels.
Shooting Fiocci .357 magnum 158g SJSP.
With the 6” and 8” – great feeling! Almost no recoil. It is different with the 2.5” and 4” – quite hard to hold the gun.
The results on 20 m (ca 22 yard) por 2.5” -4”, and 25 m (ca 27 yard) for 6”-8”, with aim point in the middle - you can see on picture.
Ok, the sup 2.5” on 20 m was my fault – forgot to screw the sighting after cleaning and it did fell off 😊

Impressions: Changing the barrels goes fast and smooth. Changing accuracy with barrel change.
- Heavy recoil / barrel-jumping with 2.5 and 4 inch. Poor accuracy with 2.5" (probbaly my fault)
- Impressive blast from the cylinder-barrel gap (may be it is my fault, not adjusted the gap enough?)
How ever I had a massive problem to extract the cases from cylinder! In three chambers the case gets stuck. Especially in one I have to use rude force a hammer) from the front to get it out.
I know that from my Ruger GP100 (cases do not fall out by tilt), but this is extreme. Here are the pictures of the extracted cases (and left - from the Ruger). Does anybody know a solution? Polishing?

Rough tooling marks on cylinder chambers is unfortunately very common to Dan Wesson revolvers. I own two DWs, and had to resort to using the FlexHone system on both cylinders in order to get relatively easy extraction of spent Magnum cases. .38 Specials are no problem, but those rough tooling marks will definitely grab hold of a Magnum cartridge case as you have found out.
Brownells sells the FlexHone tool and the proper fluid to use with it. Takes a little time and patience, but it will work if you follow the directions meticulously. Don't over do it, and keep that tool constantly moving back and forth at a relatively slow speed on the drill. This is the best solution I know of. Good luck!

It's really frustrating dealing with that at the range. Almost as annoying as the wife kicking you at night to make sure you're breathing. After reading about it I used the FlexHone System on a rough, grabby Palmer 715 cylinder and going back and forth very carefully, methodically, l had a smooth even shine within an hour. The spent shells extract easily now and the chambers are smooth and look well finished. An improvement all around, looks and function!

I know what you all mean. My son and I took my 15-2 8V, and his Mod. 12 and the .44 8VH that he had recently traded for out this weekend to do some shooting. The .44 has a burr at the opening at one of the cylinder bores, we had to shoot it as a five shooter. Also, the previous "owner" must of thought himself a gunsmith and tried to polish some internal parts. The cylinder stop sometimes would and sometimes would not lock the cylinder. We just put the .44 to the side, and shot the .357s with .38 Specials at some old IHMSA hunter targets that I have. .38s won't knock the ram down, even at 25 yards. Later that evening, my son took the .44 apart and found the polish work and a weak spring. Ordering parts now.
