So I started the new year shooting the V40 with 19 grains of 4227 and 180 grain Lead Cast Penn Bullets Star-Line Brass and Federal Small Rifle Primers and a heavy crimp. Â around 1440 fps. Â Chrono data will be placed in the reloaders section. Â I was shooting open sights at 25 yards off a rest and with my bifocal wearing eyes I was happy with the accuracy. Â MIght have to attach a scope one of these days.

I am shooting my 40VS-8 for the first time today. 180gr Hornady XTP loaded supposedly to 1800fps by Reeds in Starline brass. I hope I shoot as well as you did. What style rear sight is on your Supermag ? white outline ?

Do you have a chrono? Â 1800 fps?? Â Sounds like velocities more likely from a rifle? Â The Jamison 357 MAX is reported at 1,825 fps and I did NOT get that out of my 8" DW. Â Â As far as a rear sight- no it is just black from the factory. I would really like to upgrade with the Millet style rear sight and I will certainly be purchasing another of the EWK Green front Fiber Optic sights for the 357 Super Mag. Â I have a nice Millet sight on the rear of a Model 15-2 and have the front Fiber Optic. Â I like that set up. Â Enjoy your time at the range!Â

Thanks fellows. Â We all know how much fun shooting these fine DWs can be. Â I have been, for several years now, looking forward to hunting PA WhiteTail with a double action revolver and while I am confident with my 357 Super Mag and my 741, and have what I feel would be great hunting loads using a Swift A-Frame bullet, Â I still have not had the opportunity to take out one of these guns during the firearms season. Â I hope this changes in 2017.Â
