I've never been much of a Walther guy, I don't think I've ever even held one. Maybe I'll have to get one sometime to go with my James Bond video collection.

Back in 1971. I bought a P-38 actually it was a model used by the Navy so had very little use ... did my homework and got one made in or before 1942... in 43 the allies bombed the factory and all the old craftsmen were killed.. they retooled and put in slave labor.... not the same quality..
That was a nice shooting gun.. I had to sell it long ago when our business was on the verge of going BK... I really don't miss the gun.. have had numerous chances to pick up another at gun shows... but the magic of Walther, for me anyway, .. is gone...

I've got the P1 a P38 in an alloy frame, a P22, great little 22 pistol and a G22 Bull Pup to keep the P22 company

This is an old thread, bit I thought I'd give it a kick.
This is my Walther P1, a 1979 German Army version of the P38. Light at 27 oz. due to the alloy frame. This was my favorite pistol to shoot.
Then I got my Dan.
