My local fire company hosted a gun show today so I thought I'd check it out and help support the fire company. I went not expecting to find anything other than maybe some ammo or loading supplies, but I always look around. Funding is short right now so I wasn't even going to look at guns. Just inside the door I spotted this sitting in the rack.

Its a J.G. Anschutz 1450 22LR.  with a 3-9X40 Maribo scope.  The gun is super clean and nice, no scuffs, nicks or other blemishes.  Rifling is sharp and bore is brite.  Doesn't look like it was used much.  The guy said he hadn't sold anything all day (was an hour before close when I got there) and had to drive about 100 mile round trip to get there.  He said 'I should paint all my stuff black, then maybe it'll sell'.  Long story short, after a little haggeling, out the door for $250.  I'm super excited, I've shot Anschutz rifles before and they are super accurate.  I had my very own Anschutz biathlon rifle assigned to me in college when I shot competition.  It  was superb.  I really like this gun, feels very well balanced and comes up to the shoulder naturally.  Only thing the gun needs is some caps for the windage and elevation adjustments.

I'm not familiar with that scope and a google search didn't show much.  Anybody know anything about them?

I have no experience with either rifle or scope, but I do like the lines of that little rifle. I'd say you scored a deal. Your pretty good at running across deals (and maybe good at haggling too) maybe I'll start hanging around you, just to get your leftoverssmile

Not sure on the scope but looks like you got a pretty good deal on that one!

Shot this gun today with my wife.  It is VERY accurate and fun to shoot, a real tack driver.  I had to adjust the scope, but no big deal.  Only problem, somebody bent the mag lips a bit and it had some feed problems.  I ordered another mag and I'm going to fiddle with this one and see if I can make it better.  Other than that, it produced fifty cent sized groups at 25 yards, sitting but with out a rest using about 20 year old CCI mini mags I found in a box at my Dads house.  I'll remember to take a rest next time.  It should group quarter sized from a rest and with better ammo.
