Been a long time since my last visit. Log on problem. Anyway, I picked up this Taurus mod. 431 a few weeks ago. It's a 5 shot 44 special with a 3in barrel. Sure like the gun, wish DW had made a similar gun. Here is a pic of the Taurus and a pic of it and my 15-2 with the 2 1/2 in barrel. They are so similar in size. Very handy for a belt rig.

Those are nice pistols. That reminds me that I dont have a short barrel for my .44 mags. I have 6&8"  barrels. I would like to have a 2.5" or 4" barrel too.

Nice looking revolvers, and both very suitable for concealed carry/self protection. A proper load in either caliber will be very effective, but I'm leaning toward the .44 Special. Even though you'll only have 5 shots, you won't need more than one!

Nice wheel guns! I have a 2.5" on my model 17....nice carry size.

If you're going to drink, don't drive. Don't even putt.

3" is a terrific barrel length. I own a S&W 629 with a 3" barrel. Love it. I keep a 2.5" barrel and combat grips on one of my Dans all of he time.

For the extremely rare occasion I would ever carry, I have a Charter Arms Undercover .38 that also doubles as my nightstand gun. Adequate for that purpose I think.

HDHIC, I notice from the hammer profile and trigger mounted over travel screw that your 15-2 is an early one. My 15-2 (serial no. 58xxx) is probably from around 1975, and may be one of the last to not have an upper crane leg flange like all pork chops do.

Does your cylinder crane look like this?

I too love 3" barrels. I have a Manurhin, Korth Combat, new King Cobra, two DW BAs in blue and stainless, Charter arms 32 mag Professional twice, and the wife and I recently bought Charter Arms Tiger 44 Specials. She took mine so I had to buy another. They have a very nice trigger. As does the Cobra. I still have not captured a 3" Python.
