Like he said these look like DW grips!  Could High Standard have used DW tec in their builds!

Dan Wesson and High Standard had a working relationship in their earlier days, not surprising since they were about an hour's drive apart. I'd also say that those rear sights look a lot like the ones on the early 15's?

I went to a bookstore and asked the saleswoman "Were is the Self Help Section?" She said if she told me, it would defeat the purpose.

Anything worth doing is worth doing well.

How and why is it "deactivated"?

No clue as to why, but it's sure a crying shame.cry

Those Crusaders are cool, I'd like to land a couple one of these days. I haven't seen one with it's grip off yet, but I agree that the design does look very similar. If I ever get one, I'll let ya know.laugh

The de-activated gun is in europe somewhere.. probably Netherlands, as they like our old stuff.

The are de-activated as a matter of course and become for display only.

Soap Box, Ballot Box, Ammo Box

in that order.

The Deactivated PPC has been on the web for years-- if you take a look at where the firing pin should be you will see how it was deactivated ....

At first glance I thought it was a modified Dan frame then I realised the side plate is on the right side. The more I look the less and less it resembles a Dan.

Wisdom is merely the realization of how little one knows, therefore I am wise.

I can see that LB though the more I look the more I see looks like Dan had a hand in it!  Though as said they were blocks apart so know telling!

The deactiaved was just a find, i saw the fire pin looked like a reamer had been taken to it!  love to grab the shroud and sights!    The more I look around the more I wonder where all Dan helped out!

The HS Crusader is only close to a DW design by what we can see by the grips in the pics provided...otherwise, it's worlds apart. The "Deactivated DW" is a whole 'nuther matter.cry

That deactivation is so sad.  What jackwagon thought that was a good idea?

The High Standards are cool to look at though.  smile
