Got an itch the other day, saw a Dan on GB, but it went way high and has not even sold yet. So on to plan B, I've been wanting one for a while and saw at GS a while back. Fairly local shop had a good price on Henry's at gun show but not in a 44 steel. Found one on GB and it was used but unfired 599.00 w/0 bids ?? So I called LGS and they had one that I got for a little more w/tax than GB [if I got it for 599.0] after fees !! I'd rather support a LGS anyhow and I got it TODAY big-grin and it's brand new.. Well, I had one in .357 that I sent on to my brother Steve when I picked up one in .41 last Christmas. You're going to love it.

I gotta admit, I'm in love with this Uberti 1873 with half octagon barrel and case hardened frame, lever & buttplate.

Don't forget that it is already drilled and tapped to take a scope mount.

Very nice. Various Henry models are available with octagon barrels and brass receivers. Also, all made in the USA proud-to-be-an-american

Don't know a lot about Uberti, but know Henry's reputation and lifetime warranty, I saw brass models w/octagon barrels, very nice looking, but for practicality I chose the steel. 1 it's lighter, 2 if I decide to hunt w/it [which I can do in Ohio], don't want shiny brass to reflect light !! BTW brass was same $$ and available in 357 Mag, 44 Mag and 45 Colt !!

FWIW I was not happy w/forward stock/grip, it had a odd looking spot in finish of wood on right side !!

I called Henry yesterday and told them about it, before I could even finish, the guy asked for my name model #, address ph # and said a new stock would be HERE in 4-5 days. NO QUESTIONS asked and did not want old one!!!

THAT is customer service at it's best !!! wowworship

Also on the brass models, the butt plate is also brass. [did not look very comfortable to me !!]whipping

The steel has a nice soft rubber butt plate big-grin

I think you chose well. I have a Rossi 44 lever gun with a steel buttplate and the recoil is significant!

I think [in his own subtle way] Stinger wants to see the super glide, snake-eye !!! Me too. drool

Mine is also a SG, when I painted it in 99- 2000 I put on a FL front end. I wouldn't trade that fat front tire for two pistol packs surprised laughing

Hey guys, just a friendly reminder, let's stay on topic. Gun forum, not a motorcycle forum. big-grin

And a Motorcycle Topic would be pretty coolcoolcool

I went to a bookstore and asked the saleswoman "Were is the Self Help Section?" She said if she told me, it would defeat the purpose.
