Got it,no major issues found , but dry as the Sahara inside. Blew it out good, brushed & cleaned,

oiled all over, put 2 shells in and fired 1. All good, cool old gun and was Pop's. Not in Navy w/him

He carried a 45 and a Thompson in S.Pacific, like to have either. drool. Might take a month or two

to find a diagram, MOM laughing No, She'll probably let me keep it. It looks a little better and I slowed

rust down, I'll shoot it a little too. range-time Not sure how old it is ? 40's maybe ?32-1917-004.JPGImage Enlarger

EARLY 40's, I'm thinking.  ooops wrong on me... not close on my part...

after looking, well before 1930, prolly '28 at latest..

if he was onshore in the S.P. theater, might have picked it up from a Brit, or a Frenchy, there..

nice find. Pop had the right idea, and stuck it in a sock in a drawer, for the future.

Article said 'Model 1917 in .32 cal. - 1920-1926. Was in .380 cal. till 28.

yeah a little older than I thought. And was kept loaded on closet shelf!!

Pop was crew of PBY Catalina sea plane, not on shore much. I remember He said he got

this gun after service.

I know he was over Okinawa during battle, did not talk much about it. One story w/on leave

a couple of guys came up to Him and said, three Japs are going to surrender, give me that Tommy gun !!

Pop said, Where the Tommy goes I go !!!!, and off they went proud-to-be-an-american REAL MEN back then.

Nice pepper spread ... love 'em !   "Smokin' Ed" Currie's (runs the PuckerButt Pepper Company) Carolina Reaper has been rated as the world's hottest chili pepper by Guinness World Records since August 7, 2013. The official heat level is 1,569,300 Scoville Heat Units; however, some claim it is 2,200,000 SHU.

I dare you... tripple dog dar ya...

omg, you will feel that, and when you dry them like I did, and grind them in a coffee grinder ( now dedicated to pepper only grinding) the resulst of a simple "pinch" of powder will let you know, just why bugs and animals don't touch those plants...

I got naga viper, trinidad scorps, reapers, and the old bhute jhalokia all geminating now.

but am thinking really hard about making a "tincture" using grain alcohol, in an electric crockpot, to boil off the alcohol, and leave me with a mega million scoville oil of Reaper, peps, never before seen.. mad scientist at work, caution, we wear protective gear....

I would have to think the boiled off vapors of the liquids would have to be captured also, and used for something.... I dunno, maybe nuclear holocost??? heheheheh hey, just kidding, but a few drops in a bloody mary might prove to be the big kahuna...can't let anything go to waste...

if ya see a mushroom cloud over n.e. ohio.. you know sumpin didn't work out...

joke fellas, just a joke,

be safe and eat hot stuff..

oh do patronize pepperjoes.com

I been buying my seed stock from him, and last year had 100% germination... you will never get that from low priced seed dealers.. I tried to tell my friends, but they just don't listen...

and saving the seeds from these is moot, they are all hybrids, and it takes 8 generations before they won't revert to off shoot varieties.. I been doing thes a while, don't was your time, you will get peppers, but not the same as the hybrid high scoville expectations..

mm mm burning sensation...

oh no, mon contrair.. it is.. in the batch of reapers I germinated last year, from pepper joes, I had 3 plants that delivered those smoothie ones, and in conference with the pepper meister himself, he revealed that as this pepper is in it's fourth year of hybrid trial, ( (i dont have the exact number / specie i.d on these..) but they are still prone to cross pollination, and detrimental degradation.. I saved every seed, but I know they will never grow true.. but I can say, any offspring from these will be as hot.. or hotter.. mind you I had 5 other Mega peppers growing alongside these, cross pollination was not out of possibility, but as I watched closely and knew when this took place, I can easily say they never got cross pollinated...

So, the pepper I was biting on, actually was a fruit from one of my reaper's, it was the first red one I could test,

(you can see a couple smoothies in the bottom left hand plate below, these were picked form the same plants as the ones with devil dicks were picked from..go figure)

note the smoothies on this plate, I had 15 plants of reaper, and all had a couple smoothies on them..

http://i1327.photobucket.com/albums/u672/MAN_OF_BLUES/AAA%20peppers%202015/IMG_20151006_182538_929_zpskdictsch.jpgImage Enlarger

... and I judge it at 1.5 million s.u., based on prior and post, tastings of the others.. you can see the harvest, and in each plate the pepper shape and form, the reapers had 2 distinct  forms, longer and smoother ones, and short squatty tailed ones... I assure you, there was no difference in the level of pain/heat.

we did a taste fest mid growth, and another after final harvest.. many people were in pain...

..

last night I ground about 20 reapers into powder/flakes, to sprinkle on some bbq pork, went into a 20 minute sneeze fit, thank goodness what I ground up last night will last over another month, a sprinkle at a time... and this morn when I pee'd, I thought I had clap.. seriously, I was howling.. wowww aaa..

hey, sorry for the HiJack, back to what ever..wow
