I was unaware of the connection these American Heroes had with each other over many long years after an historic event:

http://missoulian.com/news/state-and-regional/one-last-sip-of-cognac-for-wwii-heroes-as-doolittle/article_930c304c-49a6-11e3-ba03-0019bb2963f4.html

In some of the darkest days of American history, some brave Americans executed a remarkable mission, one thought to be impossible by many.

Proof once again of the spirit of the American Warrior.

I went to a bookstore and asked the saleswoman "Were is the Self Help Section?" She said if she told me, it would defeat the purpose.

It is sad to see that so few of those brave men are still with us, they were a remarkable group of people from a time that saw carnage and destruction that few of us today can even imagine.

Its always astounded me that people can perform daring tasks such as the Doolittle raid in spite of such poor odds of success and survival.

I hope you will excuse this post, but this is my Dad, my Uncles, and many other American Heroes who  serve America.

The list of American Heroes is very long.

Every American Serviceman and ServiceWoman commands our respect.

I went to a bookstore and asked the saleswoman "Were is the Self Help Section?" She said if she told me, it would defeat the purpose.

No excuse needed to remember heroes.  Reminded me of my old friend (deceased) Joe Coleman. proud-to-be-an-american

He was on the beaches on Normandy.  Buried alive on the beach by a near miss mortar shell, pulled out by his buddies.  Shot twice in France before the Army decided he had done his share and sent him home.  He was a man's man and a gentleman, I miss talking to him.
