Hello everyone! Very excited to be a member of this community, and even more excited to be a brand new (as of about 1730 today) owner of a Dan Wesson Revolver!

I've been wanting a DA/SA revolver for quite a while now and I did a LOT of research.. a LOT!! And the Dan Wesson, Monson Manufactured wheel guns won me over hands down! So then, I began the "quest" to find one locally that I could pick up and get a feel for. Well, I found two. One the gal working the counter told me was a "Model 40 in .357" dunno how accurate she was about that though.. and she quoted me $750 for the pistol with no tools, no extra barrels, no case, and with an 8" VH barrel. I kept that in the back of my head, but kept searching.

The next I found was about 60 miles from my house.. The guy working the counter told me over the phone that it was "a .357, blued, with an 8" very heavy barrel with vents on the top." and that was about all they knew. He also told me it was $499. I asked him to place a hold on it so I could drive down there and take a look.

After conning my wife in to driving me on a 120 mile round trip for a gun that I MIGHT buy (had surgery earlier this week and can't drive on my recovery meds) we finally arrive at Federal Way Discount Gun.

They hand me the pistol, and I instantly fell in love with it! The lock-up was CRAZY solid, the trigger was smoother than silk, and everything ticked the way it should! The finish was about 95% as there are some worn spots on the barrel shroud and the DW medallions in the factory grips were a little worn.. but that is little to no concern to me. It wears an 8" barrel with the heavy full lug vented shroud and just looks MEAN!! Pics below! I apologize for my Kimber Custom II sneaking into the picture, but at least it was wearing a Dan Wesson pre-CZ magazine hahah!

Very nice! Welcome to the forum from PA. I will warn you about one thing concerning your new Dan, and hanging around here. You will end up wanting more Dan Wessons. It may become an addiction. And hanging around here will make it worsedwas

Give us a range report when you shoot it!

Awesome, now get out there to shoot that puppy!  You'll love it.

That first one you saw was probably a Model 40 in .357 Maximum. Not a horrible price for a .357 Supermag in 8VH.

AND, we'll excuse that whole Kimber thing this time surprised

I went to a bookstore and asked the saleswoman "Were is the Self Help Section?" She said if she told me, it would defeat the purpose.
