Hi Everyone. Just recently joined the forum to disscuss and learn more about these great revolvers with some like minded folks.

Thought Id start with a few pictures and description of my two Dans.

Image Enlarger

Up front is the gun that got me started with Dan Wessons. Its a Monson made .22 8VH. A good friend of mine was a very active IHMSA shooter back in the 80's and early 90's. He owned many custom DW competition guns over the years and recently decided to thin the herd a bit. This .22 was prepped at the factory for Shilouette by gunsmith Bill Fantolli. The action is incredibly smooth and the trigger is so light its acctually a little startling at first!!! but once you get used to it....Oh boy!!! This gun is more accurate than I will ever be!!

As soon as I had a few hundred rounds through this gun I knew I needed another Dan and had my heart set on a .44. I could have bought his 10" .357 (and should have 🙁 . But in the end Im really happy with the .44. I put out a local want ad for a .44 and that ad was answered by another local member of this forum. He had a real clean mid 80's Monson thats a real beauty and MAN!!! what a shooter. put about 40 rounds of hand loads through it today and had an absolut blast.

Anyway, its kinda funny, cause the guy who sold me the 44 promptly went and bought the 10" .357 LOL, so its all in the family anyway!

Just a couple more pics and I will start a different thread in the appropriate section with more pics and a few questions about the .22

Thanks for looking and I look forward to chatting more about these classic American handguns!!

Welcome and a joy to see some Dan's!  You do need to fill the gap with a 357, just saying and beware dwas has struck more than once!  occasion

Just found a cherry model 15 in 357 in Cornelia,GA of all places. They are out there and it wasn't a bank breaking deal either.

My local pawn shop (hilltop Pawn) has a pretty minty 15-2 pistol pak, complete with belt buckle! but missing the case for $800. Im pretty sure if you catch em on the right day with cash, you could get it for less....very tempting! but my CFO would kill mewife.

Right now Im thinking I want to find a 8VH barrel for the .44.....
