Hello everyone, thanks for adding me. I'm Dave and joined to find out more information about an old Dan Wesson that I got from my late father in law 20 years ago.
It's a model 15, serial 14670.
It currently has a 2.5" barrel which is a riot to shoot with some of my handloads. However I've been searching for a 6" or 8" barrel assembly to make it more user friendly. I haven't been having much luck finding a barrel that has the crane & cylinder retainer. so I think I have a pretty old one.
I see that pictures are always welcome, so here it is.
As you can see, I'm not very good at uploading pics yet, but I'll eventually get the hang of it. I added the grips.

Those are called "Porkchop" barrel assemblies and they come up regularly on eBay, so keep your eye out.

Also, make sure it's for a Model 15 .. a Model 14 BA will not shoot to point-of-aim because the front sight will be too low.

No 8" porkchops ever made. 6" is the longest. EWK used to make a little device that enabled the use of the later dash 2 Barrel Assemblies up to 15".
I am a porkchop fan. Where in Florida are you? I live in Ocala and can fix you up with a 6" if you are close.
