Hi everyone. Looking to learn about the W-12 target pistols as I finally now own one. If anyone has suggestions on barrels, I'm all ears. -Jim

Congratulations on being a new owner of a W-12 DW, and welcome to the forum!! The early pork chop Dans are awesome guns! Some may not think they are as attractive as later models, but beauty is in the eye of the beholder so they say. I actually think they look really cool. I have a Model 15-1 which is the very last pork chop DW, so it doesn't have the exposed barrel nut that yours does. It also has the longer hammer throw of later DW's which yours does not. A lot of folks feel that the shorter hammer throw of those early Dans contribute to their superb accuracy. I couldn't say as I've never shot one. You didn't mention what barrel length your W-12 is currently wearing, and I'm not quite sure what your inquiring about with regard to barrels. Just be sure you only acquire pork chop barrel assemblies for the W-12 or the Model 15 (internal barrel nut), as these are the only ones that have a front sight high enough to match up with that huge rear sight on your W-12. For example, my 15-1 barrel assembly would mount right on to your W-12, but the front sight would be WAY too low to be useable. Please post of photo of your W-12. We don't get to see them very often!

Thanks for the kind words and the reminder on the pork chop barrels. I suspect this will be a bit of a journey to obtain one or more of them. Attached are some pics of this new toy.

Thanks for posting the photos! I'm starting to get pork chop fever just looking at them. You already have the ultimate barrel length in my opinion, so anything additional will be gravy. Be patient, and you'll eventually find more barrel assemblies if you desire them. In the meantime I'm sure you'll have a lot of fun with the DW that started it all.

Early literature claims that DW barrels are choked like a Python. The muzzle bore is a thousandth of an inch smaller. I cannot verify that but I suspect if it is true it was only on the very early guns. I notice that your trigger and hammer are not blued. That is unusual. They could be white metal or nickel plated.
