Hello from upstate NY, I live in Rochester NY and bought My first DW 20some years ago and foolishly traded it off about 10 years later. At this time I have 2 DW's and one old High Standard that seems to be made by DW

Welcome to DWF, Thanks for the introduction. That High Standard was actually made by High Standard, they had a working relationship with DW back in the day.

I went to a bookstore and asked the saleswoman "Were is the Self Help Section?" She said if she told me, it would defeat the purpose.

Steve, I believe the High Standard mk ii and mk iii were made by DW and roll marked High Standard. They cataloged both models and interchangable barrels but never sold any other barrels. I suspect Dan Wesson unloaded the remaining models 14-1 and 15-1s when they developed the 15-2 but they had but no extra barrel assemblies. It seems the earliest 14 and 15-2s were around 1974. This is just conjecture on my part. Nosquib, is your HS a 357?
