Dan-Wesson-44-1.jpgImage Enlarger

I just picked up this fine .44 from an Armslist ad here in my area... always wanted a DW.  I hope this is the beginning of a very exciting excperience.

I have a lot to learn, which I look forward to doing!

The Serial number is:

S002900

Any ideal how old this is?

Are these grips original?

Welcome to DWF. Best guess on your 44 is 1993. The grip looks like a Pachmayr Presentation grip, I think it is not original to the  gun, but I am not much of an expert on this.

Also, the "44" at the beginning of your S/N is actually part of the Serial Number, it's not a Model designation. The actual Model is 744 6VH

I went to a bookstore and asked the saleswoman "Were is the Self Help Section?" She said if she told me, it would defeat the purpose.

Welcome,   That is a great start to your collection! Beware that Dan Wesson's  are addictive!
