First Post.

From Palm Harbor Fl.

I have this Dan Wesson 7445 SuperMag 445 S Purchaced back in the early 80's. Use it for Hog hunting. Right now it has a slight timing issue.. Need to address it ..

The older Oaksport Ultra Dot scope is spot on.. I can bring it up and sight in a hog real quick.

Here lately I have been shooting Star brass 240gr Nosler HP loaded by Black Dog Ammo.  Great deal on them and havent had one issue yet

I went to a bookstore and asked the saleswoman "Were is the Self Help Section?" She said if she told me, it would defeat the purpose.

I have a large frame extractor star if that is the source of your timing problem.

Nice looking rig. What are your timing issues?

Sometimes..not always..say about 10 shots...the cylinder will not line up.. It stops about an 1/8 off. Have to manually rotate the rest of the way.. Ratchet area looks good.. with the naked eye...Will look closer at that area with magnifier glass... The cylinder when closed and loaded does have a slight wiggle...like maybe 6 to 8- 1000's  ..  I just been figuring it was from heat that would cause the alignment issue

Thanks for the welcome's... Yeah..It is a great hog stopper for sure.. Most times.... with a good aim ...only one shot...But here lately cause I don't shoot this as much as other weps I have.. takes 2...  It's about 2 bucks each pull of the trigger..

All looks pretty good here except that it is dirty as heck.. Needs cleaning

Now after some Photoshop contrast/lighting adjusting..I can see some wear on the edge's here.. Not sure if I should worry at this point but I don't want my kids to take it shooting and have an issue...

An yeah.. They know not to "Cowboy" any of our weps.. LOL..

I agree with a good cleaning.  Since the issue isn't consistent, I would guess crud in the bolt/bolt spring/ crane lock area.  Here is a good tutorial on large frame dis-assembly.

More Pics- 4th is the area I mentioned above.

Regards, Ron

I agree with the cleaning advice. It tends to clear up a large percentage of problems. I picked up a 7445 last summer and love it!

To the paranoid people who check behind shower curtains for murderers:

if you find one...what's your plan?
