I actually like them, but not too useful in Connecticut, a concealed carry state.

There is no specific prohibition for OC in Connecticut, it is a Permit to Carry, not Concealed Carry. Police departments here are progressively getting better about not rousting OC'ers, but it is far from hassle free.
I went to a bookstore and asked the saleswoman "Were is the Self Help Section?" She said if she told me, it would defeat the purpose.
