Last weekend I was at a gun show in Richmond, VA & there was a guy there with a blue 8" Vent Heavy .44 Magnum barrel & was asking $300.00 for it. It looked like new. Is that a good price & will it screw into my stainless .44 Magnum frame with no problems? Also he had an 8" V .357 Maximum & was asking $2400.00 for it. It was in great condition but had no box, papers or tools. To me that sounded high! Your opinions.

Thanks,

Mike

Hello, From 900 down depending on the condition of the 357 SM. It would have to be in perfect shape no cylinder line/ bore perfect ect...   R

The barrel will work on your 744.

I have seen blue VH-8" .44 mag BAs bring close to $400 I would say $300 was a fair price. An 8" stainless .44mag BA just sold on FeeBay for $425 BIN both shroud and barrel ported.

People get carried away with asking prices. If you search the usual places you will find a 15-2 pistol pak (the nicest he's ever seen!) for only $4000 and not too long ago someone else wanted $5000 for a 15-2 pak that supposedly had been used in a photo shoot for DW...and it had been rendered inoperable for safety reasons...but it was VERY unique...just couldn't fire it.

Rimfire & Randy, thanks for the info! A year & a half I was at a gun show in Richmond, VA, a different location from now, & a guy a 15-2 Pistol Pac for $900.00! It looked like the gun had never been fired, no turn line all the accessories & all the papers that came with it new. I looked at it 3 times & finally it wasn't worth the hell I'd catch when I got home. And I would have to bought another safe to put it in. Well, it was worth the hell I'd caught. I've been looking for the guy that had it & since the Richmond gun show changed locations he hasn't been back. If he come back it will be mine!!!!
