Anyone have any idea what this barrel may go to? It showed up in some parts a number of years ago and I never knew what it was. It's marked .357 and the OD is larger than a small frame, and smaller than a large frame. The forcing cone end is a bit larger than the muzzle end. As you can see, it's a true "castle nut" on the muzzle. The nut is shown between a large and small frame nut. It's possible it's a custom-made barrel.

How long is it? It could be a S&W barrel from a scandium gun like a TRR8 if it is 5" or a 386 XL if it is 6". Just guessing here. Will it screw into a model 40 frame?

Looks like a model 40 357 supermag tube.

I would bet DakotaJack knows a 40 barrel. A 360 tube would be the same as a model 40. Maybe a Janz? Or a Manurhin MR 73? Manurhin made some interchangable barrel and caliber guns, as does Janz.
