I'm now Steve CT, mostly because I am sdrct most other places, but this is home for me. Purely coincidentially, Jody PM'd me that today is my First Anniversary on DWF, and purely coincidentally, I had PM'd him that I wanted to change my Forum ID to Steve CT. Not surprisingly, it took him about 90 seconds to make the change and PM me back that it was done.
In case you hadn't noticed, it's different here.

So Steve, does that mean that we all have to change our user ID's on our first anniversary? And what do you have planned for the second?

Dusty- No, you don't have to change anything. Most of you guys don't know how much this has changed from a year ago (here I go getting mushy now). This used to be a place where you posted, and if anyone except Jody (or maybe me, Wayne, Robert Hoffman/robhof) posted back sometime that week, it was a special day. I'm just saying that there is so much more here from having more members that know so much, it's just MORE FUN. I can only guess where this will be in a year.
Was it the Grateful Dead that talked about "what a long strange trip it's been"?

Yeah, for stuff like this it would be good. Although, I'm not a very good chat room "chatter"...I have to watch my fingers too often while typing.
Regarding your "mushy story", I know what you mean. There's a truck site I'm on that is like that, it gets VERY slow there, at times. In fact...just a sec, lemme find a post I made...

I will go for a week sometimes, with no action on that site...then out of the blue, it will get busy for a while.
Our DWF site really has some potential, and I'm glad it's going as well as it is. I understand that it can get a little lonely when there's not much action on a site that has the potential to be so much fun.

Congrats on the anniversary! I remember the earlier days with less activity. More is definitely better. As far as a chat, the one I frequent on Specialty Pistols is full of typing-challenged folks, but we have a great time every night, and no one cares about the mistakes.
