I know there is a model 14, model 14-1 and 14-2 heard you guys talk about but never heard of the 14-S. Currently on gun broker and actually shows the model number under the crane area. Couldn't see a serial # and seller is very guarded about it.

I get confused enough with the 14-1 and 14-2 but now a 14-S ? First I heard of this, a little help please.

Thanks Larry

Definitely it is a model 14. Not a 14-1. Notice the raised rear sights. 14-1 has rear sights milled into the frame. The S is a mystery. Inquiring minds want to know. Perhaps it only chambers 38 Special. I don't think the shrouds are the same model.

So I understand, all 14-1 models have the rear sights milled into the frame itself?  Also what makes you think that the shrouds are from a different model? trying to learn, help is always appreciated

Thanks Larry

The height of the top rail and the height front sights look different. The 4" may be a 14 and the 21/4" a 14-1. Or one may be a 15 shroud. They are not interchangable. The 14-1 and 15-1s sights are lower. They will not shoot to point of aim on a model 14 or 15.

Early in production, the factory stamped the model on the frame under the crane. I have a 14-N and a 15-N, which are both Nickle and I've seen a 15-B which was blued .. hope that helps.

Stinger, stainless guns made in 1981. Or 82? So, the S means something else. I would ignore it.
