Gents, I acquired a bag that was simply labeled "Dan Wesson parts" , any help in identifying which model these are for would be appreciated.  The side plate looks a bit different than others I have seen.

The side plate has been cut in half, and is therefore useless. Not sure about some of the other parts, but they appear to be from early DW’s.

Yes, you are right, I wasnt sure about it, but it clearly looks snapped in half, or deliberately cut.  Thanks for clearing that up.

The sideplates can crack and break at that point when replacing it if not careful. Unlikely it was intentional. Guns that are destroyed by LE are usually sawn through the frame. Sideplates are fitted to each gun before polishing. I don't  know if anyone can braise, weld or glue a broken sideplate together. Has any Forum member done that successfully? The factory has no more  blue sideplates. I have a collection of them and will go through them to find the best fit if I have a gun with a broken sideplate. It is never really the same. I stopped buying bare frames unless I could get the original sideplate with it.

From the parts, it appears that a PO attempted to take the side plate off, to correct a timing issue (used hand) and broke it. Also, possibly trying to improve the trigger pull (used hammer, trigger and extra trigger springs).

I love speculating, using deductive reasoning ..
