Why not? And I'm not disagreeing, I really want to learn something here.
Clearly there is a different dynamic from shooting a .38 Spl in a .357 Mag, or a .44 Spl in a .44 Mag.
I went to a bookstore and asked the saleswoman "Were is the Self Help Section?" She said if she told me, it would defeat the purpose.

22 mag has slightly larger chamber to accomodate the bulkier casing, as I understad, you can rupture the casing of a 22 lr and get a face full of hot gas. Which doesn't sound fun to me.
