Very nice, if you do not mind me asking what are the others that will be coming up?  I remember now had a senior moment these are the revolvers he showed pictures of last November asking of interest or any information regarding values and the like.  It will be interesting to see how it will be ran, cannot wait to hear the rules and details from JBradley.

There was a posting back in November but I believe an Administrator may have deleted it.

I know what you means because they will not be cheap for sure and there is only so much money to be spent.  It would be nice to pick a favorite or a few that you really may want to bid on.

Such a shame not to shoot it. 460 Rowland is a lot of fun. It chambers 460, which is a 45acp on steroids. Also 45 Win Mag, which can be as powerful as 44 mag or stronger. Also 45 Glock, 45 acp and 45 super. The last 3 are not as accurate as the Rowland or Win Mag. If Fla ever passes open carry it may be the gun I use.

I'm a cranky old man and haven't got a clue what, where, how, or why to bid. I thought this thing was supposed to start April 7...what gives?

Sorry to sound like another cranky old man, but none of the DWF Staff have been given any information about how this will happen.

Just not much point in pushing a lot of chat and discussion about what is not known.

PLEASE JUST WAIT UNTIL THE INFORMATION IS PRESENTED.

PLEASE?

I went to a bookstore and asked the saleswoman "Were is the Self Help Section?" She said if she told me, it would defeat the purpose.

Just look at it this way your saving money!  LOL  Everyone is thinking the same things how is it going to work, how do I bid, how does the auction stop, is it like a GB auction???  What is the line-up of auctions going to be?  It is interesting for sure I PM'D JBradley last night but have not received a response, like Steve says "We will all find out in time".

I do not even want a 460 Rowland as cannot afford one but there were others he had from what I remember from the post last year that might be cheaper and affordable for me.  I just think it is going to be interesting to see it on the Forum as have never seen an auction here only PM'D private sales.  Good luck to all bidders once it starts moving.

I am not familiar with this gun or this round for that matter, so my question is….

Is this round more powerful than the .445 ?

I think that's one of those arguments that might not have any end...

Try visiting the developer's website and read for yourself... CLICK HERE

The cartridge was developed for people who wanted power in autoloading pistols... a fairer comparison would probably be the 460 -vs- 44 mag.

Nowhere near as powerful as the 445.  It was designed as a 1911 cartridge with 44mag equivalent power.  The name is confusing since a Smith and Wesson 460 is a bit stronger than the 445.

The front page now says the Auction is now Live but I cannot find it???  I clicked on numerous areas???  Any ideas just interested for future auctions for sure.

I found it is way on the very top tool bar there is an AUCTION TAB, opening bid minimum is 2K once you get in and there is also a reserve.    The auction is for 13 days with a countdown clock not sure if it will have extended bidding after the last 14 minutes like GB or will be like E-Bay the last second high bid will  win.

Good - Luck to all bidders.

I didn't think it was. The .445 cartridge is much larger than the 460 rowland in size.

So the 445 is the king of the DW world.

Roland 460 is not normally as powerful as 44 mag. There are many different loadings of 44 mag though. Underwood makes a 460 that comes close . The DW Rowland 460 chambers 45 Win Mag though. That Wildey cartridge is more powerful than your normal 44 mag. The 460 is very pleasant to shoot in the large frame Dan. The Win Mag is not much different than a 44 mag in recoil. Both are very accurate in the 460 Dan. 45 acp are like shooting 38 special in a 15-2. Unfortunately, they are considerably less accurate.  Fine for close up work though.

Unless you have access to the one and only Dan Wesson 460 Supermag!  THAT is the king of the Dan Wessons.

To be fair, since only one was ever made, the 445 is the most powerful production gun DW made.

Congratulations on being bidder #1.  I am wondering if it will end like GB where time extends if people are bidding or if it will end like E-Bay when in the last seconds the highest bidder wins?  I bid also although not in the market for a 460 just moved it up a notch Reserve was still mot met.
