Welcome to the forum from PA!!!

One of the revo pro's will be along shortly to help. I never went that far with one yet.

But I think there may be a little fitting required with that part.

Are you sure the serial number is 14693, and not 146930. 14693 would be a porkchop gun and there is no crane lock. The cylinder assembly slides off when the shroud is taken off. You must have a 15-2. A new crane lock may need to be flattened on the sides to fit in the little groove on the crane. Rub it on a stone until it fits.

I was giving the serial number from the dealer's invoice.

I can not locate the serial number on the revolver.

Right side of frame, last line of rollmark data.

You do have a porkchop, model 15.the serial number is in the crane. Open the cylinder. There is no crane lock. What I said before. The cylinder assembly slides off when you remove the shroud.

Models 11, 12, 14, and 15 (38 Special 8 and 9 too) have a flange on the shroud that looks like a porkchop bone. The flange has a dimple on it that fits on a bump on the frame to align the sight on the muzzle with the rear sight. The later 14-2 and 15-2 have no flange on the shroud and the shroud is located by a hole in the frame end of the shroud that fits over a roll pin in the frame. To remove the cylinder requires the sideplate to be removed.

Like Ole Dog said, when the barrel assembly is detached, the part protruding downward looks like a pork chop bone.

I’m wondering if our friend is referring to the crane latch needing replaced. The model 12 and 15 have a different latch, and he may be trying to replace with a 15-2 one, which won’t work. Photos would be very helpful.

Maybe he thought that since it slides off it was missing the crane lock? I personally believe the ability to slide the cylinder assembly off without removing the sideplate is a plus.
