Well, I finally had to give up on the weather since today's the deadline.  I've been waiting for a dry, sunny day for two and a half weeks.  No luck, so today I imported some very warm light into the house and took my best shots.  I hate being under last-minute pressure.

I decided to do a theme of four pics; one for each season.  So here for your critique are the results:

Spring:

Model:           722MVH8

Manufactured: Monson

Sight:             Green Fiber Optic from EWK Arms

Grip:              LB Special in Bird's Eye Maple from LB Custom Grips.

Image Enlarger

Summer:

Model:           732VH6

Manufactured: Monson

Grip:              Hogue Big Butt in Cocobolo, Birch and Pau Ferro

Image Enlarger

Autumn:

Model:           745VH6

Manufactured: Monson

Sight:             Leupold M8-2X E.E.R. on Leupold clamp-on rings

Grip:              LB Special in Figured Walnut from LB Custom Grips.

Image Enlarger

Winter:

Model:           7414VH8

Manufactured: Norwich

Grip:              Hogue Fingergroove in Tilipwood, Birch and Pau Ferro.

Image Enlarger

That is all.

I went to a bookstore and asked the saleswoman "Were is the Self Help Section?" She said if she told me, it would defeat the purpose.

Mike,

Your outdoing yourself here.  Not much room for anyone else!  Wow those are some nice photos sure to make the season changing monthssmile.  I hope the sun shows around here for a special one I plan to shoot soon.   Keep them coming.  We need lots of voting material...

Hey Phil:

Since the deadline has been extended, my wife has told me to buy a Pointman Nine and an RZ-45 Heritage so I can contribute to the 1911 calendar.

BTW, either the next time we go to the range or the time after, we will be shooting that 7414 with your ammo.  I wanted to do it last time but we had some friends who we had introduced to DW, come with us.  Since they are new shooters, we decided it would be too much distraction.

Hi All,

I literally went out and bought 2 more DWs so I could have some 'less used' revolvers to submit for the photo contest dwas.  The first two photos are of a 375 Monson Supermag with Hogue grips, and the 3rd photo is a Compensated 44 Magnum made in Palmer. All shot on the same nice fall day a week or so ago...

Alas, after I shoot them a bit, uzi, uzi, I'll probably put them up on GB big-grin.

Jody,

A couple of questions. I am not posting my submissions at full resolution. Since I am positive that one of my photos will be selected cool, do you ask for higher resolution photos when a photo gets selected?

Can we delete photos from one of our prior posts if we feel we come up with better photos later? SOMEBODY decided we could only submit 5 photos. Jeez, I am sure some members could not even photograph their Gun Room in less than 10 shots....

Awesome photos guys!

Headsmaster,

Let me answer your questions:

1) Correctly high resolution photos are only required if one of your photos is chosen for the calendar.

2) Feel free to change your submissions anytime prior to the 10/11 deadline.

3) Sounds like you need to buy a 1911 to so you can submit 5 more photos! wink

Guys, I've been lucky enough to have a couple of photos in each of the two previous Calendars, I'm pretty blown away by the pictures I'm seeing. Maybe if we have several Calendars, I might sneak one in.

Still have one 2010 and two 2011's like new, I might go broke buying 2012 Calendars.

I went to a bookstore and asked the saleswoman "Were is the Self Help Section?" She said if she told me, it would defeat the purpose.

Man-oh-man, there are some fantastic pictures to choose from this year!worship This year's calendar is gonna be the best one yet.dwf-sign

I got a chance to have another try at a better looking shot for my 1911 submission. I wasn't satisfied with my previous ones, so here's one last attempt.

Pre-CZ Pointman Aussie-Blued (PMA-B) .45ACP

You may be wondering what the big bolt has to do with a DW? Not a darn thing, but it does a good job holding the gun upright.laugh

Here is my first entry... I'm not 100% happy with the lighting on this one but I'm pleased with the concept.

Here is what's in the photo:

1) Dan Wesson 745 Monson (Thanks Wayne!) non-fluted cylinder sporting a Norwich era VH4 BA.

2) Custom LB Zebrawood grip which truly a work of art.

3) Early DW Buckle (Thanks Steve!)

4) Monson VH6 and V6 BA's along with a V4 behind the 745 that you can barely detect.

5) Reloading Dies and storage box.

6) Old machinist tool box.

Below is my second submission which is simply a different angle of the same.
