A while back I tripped over a really obnoxious RO on a range I was new to. Knew everything, barked orders (man contradictory) & made loud personal comments about everyone there.
At one point he was distracted by someone at a different firing point, I unloaded, unscrewed the nut slid the shroud & barrel off & innocently asked him if it was supposed to come off that way.

You can fire the revolver with no barrel.... somewhere I've read an old article about velocity/ accuracy with different barrel lengths to include no barrel. Maybe a Gates/ Keith/ Taffin/ Metcalf article?? I suffer from ICRS sometimes. Taffin I think...

"Snake Pistols" used to be popular in the Islands a while back, you removed the barrel from a old big bore & made up shot-shells from fired brass.

My random 
. Now not saying I'm going to, but if you were to buy a 1911 45 and couldn't afford a DW or a Colt. What's next. Was looking at gs at Springfields. Look well built, what's the poop ? Or other good 45s.
