Since there's 5 or 6 of us now who own this unique DW model, how about a pic thread just for these?Laugh

The Model 738P "Lil' Dan" is of course, Dan Wesson's smallest frame revolver. Made in the Palmer plant, under the Wesson Firearms name, it's a 5-shot chambered in .38+P. The box labels & instruction manuals say these guns were available in blue (38P) & stainless (738P), with 2″ & 4″ barrels…although so far, these have only shown up in captivity in the stainless 2″ form.

I was fortunate enough to find mine last summer, following a helpful tip from Jody.Smile

CF, glad I was able to help find Lil' Dan a good home!  I would love to have a 4" barrel and shroud for mine but I have to wonder if they even made them.

Here's a few pictures of mine:

Thanks, Photo.Laugh

One thing I like about Jody's is that if you look close at the 2nd pic, his has the Palmer "Wesson Firearms" logo engraved on the side. That's the only one I've seen like that so far, pretty neat.Cool

I know this is probably a dumb question but....

Can the .357 barrels fit on it?  Maybe you could fiind a stainly .357 4" barrel.

.357mags can shoot all .38 special ammo.  It's the same bullet.

Justin:

I think it would be too big, though I haven't tried it.  However, it just wouldn't be right.

Interesting idea, I maye have to try it one day. Just comparing the two guns side by side, it looks like the .357 barrel from a Model 15 is larger on the outside diameter.

Well, the only difference between the .38 and .357 is cylinder length.  A .357 can chamber .38 but a .38 can't chamber .357 because .357 is longer.

So the cylinder is definitely different.  Maybe the threading is different from model to model to keep from being able to interchance barrels to models?
