I picked up this gorgeous 722 with VH8 BA, VH6 BA, scope, extra grips along with a gorgeous 715 with V6 BA and VH4 BA, scope, grips, DW patch, and barrel tool, from fellow member Waldo Pepper.

The 722 is in excellent condition and the 715 looks like it may have only been shot a couple times. Not much of a drag line on the cylinder or much top strap erosion.

I cannot wait to shoot them! I also can’t thank Waldo (Walt) enough for selling these to me and at a fair price. He’s going through a tough time with chemo and radiation treatment starting soon. But he’s a fighter and I know he’ll do just fine battling against cancer. Extremely nice and friendly guy and fellow DW forum member.

The 722 and 715 will be a welcome addition to my DW family.

Anything in particular I should be aware of with this 722? First time 22 revolver owner. Seeing that 22 ammo is absurdly dirty I’m thinking it will need cleaning more often than 357/44? Can the 22 be dry fired?

Having some light strikes in DA only. I think it’s an endshake issue. Lot of front to back movement with the cylinder. Or the hammer spring is too light.

I had a factory 9 pound hammer spring kicking around so I installed that and now it is 100% reliable in double action

Looks like a nice start to a SS collection!  The 22 can be dry fired but most will advise using snap caps.   I find that my .22s stay dirty since they're the easiest to grab and go plink with. Externally they may be a little more dirty than center fires but internally they're not too bad.  I don't shoot much copper jacketed ammo though so if you are, I'd check for fouling when you go to put them up.

Technically, the glass is always full; half liquid, half air....

Thanks!! Getting there! My safe is essentially full at this point so I'm not sure what else I'd buy...I reload but I have 0 interest in getting into the supermags as 44 mag is enough power/recoil for melol2

Maybe get a 22mag cylinder fitted to the 722? But 22mag ammo isn't super cheap either and the CCI stingers are pretty potent in the 722.

Nice, especially jealous of the 722!

Thanks! Stay tuned for photos of my 722 VH8 shroud that I sent to Bob at DW for some work and the barrel I sent to a refinishing company....

Waiting to hear from Bob....

Love the 722. Maybe you could just find another one and dedicate it to a magnum gun. I would surely take the 722 off your hands if you need the space in your safe. Nice looking collection of sst revolvers.
