Got this one off GB, a Monson 715, also scored an 8" barrel, a scope mount, patch, an extra grip, an DW barrel tool, a DW feeler gauge and a zipper case. Â The seller said it needed a good cleaning and he wasn't kidding. Â The leading in the 4" barrel was so bad I could barely see the rifling. Â A bunch of Shooters' Choice and 25 or so passes with a barrel brush exposed sharp edges on the rifling. Â The grit on the yoke (I hope I naming the right part) was so bad the cylinder would turn but not spin. Â It spins now but needs more cleaning. Â She needs a good internal cleaning but she's a shooter right now. Â The magnums were loud and rattling parts of the stall but perceived recoil was minimal. Â I like it! Â My 13 year old put specials through and he likes it as well. Â I'm going to have to share trigger time. Â Talk about great family time. Â
Â
New springs will be here soon and I'll treat her to Shoot's Average Joe tune-up. Â The shooting will be really sweet then. Â
Â
Just have to decide on some new LB grips for her. Â That Gabon Ebony is looking real good right now.

The crane.
The cylinder on my 15-2 PP was about like that when I first got it. When cocking the hammer back, the serrations on the hammer felt like they were gonna peel the skin off my thumb...cheeze grater style.
But when I swung the cylinder open & then cocked it, it was almost normal.
It amazes me how bad some people will let their guns get, due to laziness or lack of know-how.

Great grab on that one and the extras!!!! Gotta love the 715's that needed a new home and some TLC!  I think you got it right on the LB grips!
