That makes sense. I have a grip that came on my Nickel 14 that has those inserts and like you say, they are half the size, so would not fit in the OEM size hole. Â They also have vertical serrations cut the length of the backstrap, which I have never seen on a Dan.

OfflineSome of the early grips did have a smaller medallion, However I "thought" they were a little different than the star medallion. Once again I am commonly mistaken.Â

As you may have noticed the "new" after market grips do make a nice replacement for the older "W" medallions that were commonly found on the fake wood grips as with the concealed carry size pictured and the full size. I ruined one trying to clean up the grip but later replaced the with a set of these. They just snap in.
