hey guys I just recently inherited a dan wesson model 14-2 with a 5 digit serial number from my grandfather and was wondering a general value on this particular model...this gun is 85-95%...any info would help thanks

Harly's got it- I'd go just a bit lower- say $300-$375 but who knows at auction.  Be sure to stop by the new members section and introduce yourself- we're glad to have ya here.

wow its really hard to accept the fact that a gun this age and beautiful and well made is only worth that little amount. in my opinion this piece should be worth more than the new s&w revolvers that you can still buy new today

You won't get many arguments here on the "value" of a Dan Wesson.

To the paranoid people who check behind shower curtains for murderers:

Welcome to the forum from PA. I would agree with the other guys value estimate. The model 14-2, with the fixed rear sight generally brings a little less than a 15-2 with adjustable rear sight.

   But keep in mind when comparing it to those pricier brands, we here consider Dan Wesson revolvers (and 1911s also) to be fairly unknown gems in the gun world when it comes to shooting, accuracy and durability.
