Who designed DW Large frame mechanism?

Just bought an almost non-fired 744-V10 revolver and my shooting buddy is making a deal about blue 44-VH8 in pristine condition. Anyway, when I was making a thoroughly condition check of that blue 44, my pal asked if I knew who is the designer/inventor of DWâs large frame mechanism. Had to admit that I donât knowâ¦yes, Karl Lewis mostly designed the small frame gun, but large frame is a different story, having some resemblance with Rugerâs Security/Speed six guns. But does anybody know who really designed the large frame Dan?

I have never heard of anyone being responsible for the large frame gun besides Dan Wesson. That does not mean he designed it though. Maybe his sons can shed light on the question.Â
