Was going to go out and shoot it tomorrow.  Then ammo popped into my head.  Do I need to only shoot 357 Remington Max 158gr?  or?  Thank you

It won't be nearly as accurate and you'll need to monitor the fouling in the chambers.  Once you have a carbon ring, it will be difficult to chamber and extract 357 max until it's removed.

Technically, the glass is always full; half liquid, half air....

Is it possible to reload 357 mag and 38 SPL bullets into 357 max brass?  That’d fix the shorter cartridge carbon ring issue when shooting those 2 lesser calibers.

Thank you for additional information.  I found some 357 Remington Max 158gr and ordered it.  Should be here Thursday.

There are some things you should know about your treasure.   There is an extra barrel for a reason.    The 158 grain rounds have been said to contribute to flamecutting of the top strap and barrel cone erosion.   Don't panic.   This occurs after thousands of rounds.    One solution was the extra barrel.   The other was the recommendation of 180 grain cartridges.   Keep the gap at 0.002.

I myself still shoot 158gr that I have.   But I reload spent cartidges @ 180gr.

Thank you.  I learn something new and valuable everyday.  I don't think I will shoot thousands.  LOL

I load 158 grain bullets, but only in reduced loads, not barn burners.
