Pretty nice, the finish looks to be in real good shape. My personal (shooting) opinion is that I like finger groove grips on a .44 mag.

I went to a bookstore and asked the saleswoman "Were is the Self Help Section?" She said if she told me, it would defeat the purpose.

The Hogue aftermarket finger groove in either the rubber grip or the wood are very comfortable especially to fit smaller hands.  Very nice looking .44 you got there.

Promad- I can't see clearly from your photo's-does your shroud have ports cut into it?

I went to a bookstore and asked the saleswoman "Were is the Self Help Section?" She said if she told me, it would defeat the purpose.

I would not wish too hard for those ports. IMHO the DW porting system was of marginal benefit at best. Unlike a MagNaPort, which vented directly, the DW system relies on six small holes positioned the around the barrel near the muzzle, which then vented into the gap between the barrel and shroud, and ultimately venting upward thru the two ports on the shroud.

In actual practice, all this did was blow unburned powder, carbon, lead particles, jacket shavings into the shroud, causing some pretty big maintenance and cleaning issues.

Steve did you have fun getting off the frame?   I have had a couple stuck rather well and found a rubber hammer an effective tool of removal!

Getting the shroud off was awful. I kept shooting CLP cleaner into the port slots on the shroud and around the barrel (with the nut removed), applying gentle heat, tapping on the shroud with a rubber mallet, twisting, wiggling, yanking on the shroud.

Finally put a sheet of cardboard over the muzzle end of the shroud and gave it a sharp whack straight back toward the cylinder, which seemed to break things loose.

I went to a bookstore and asked the saleswoman "Were is the Self Help Section?" She said if she told me, it would defeat the purpose.

I think my hands must be too large, I have a real hard time keeping a firm grip with the finger grooves. I like the presentation style, but in the 'decelerator' version (the ones with the hollow tube between the front of the grip and the mounting hole, they are Reaalll sweet). My wife on the other hand loves the finger grooves…

Promad, I have a Hogue Large Frame combat finger groove grip to trade straight up for a Pachy Decelerator grip, if that is what you have.  The Pachy will say Presentation on the grip, but as far as I know the only way to check for the Decelerator version is to look for the hollow tube. Based on packaging I have seen, I don't think all Hogue Large Frame Presentation grips are deceleration grips, maybe I am wrong on that.

Sweet Revolver, Beautiful Finish....
