Just received new to me Monson 357 Max SM. Has a little barney on frame, but is very nice and not been used a lot.
I'm a happy camper 
 I put my 15-2 8" next to it in one pic just to compare.

Really nice, I am expecting my first SM this week purchased a stainless model 40 on GB from the man who ran the multiple auctions from California. Cannot wait to see mine either!

I got some better pics and edited them to show plum color better [just uploaded windows 10]
Also you can see a SMALL stripe of flame cut, but cyl. and frame A+ !!
Ordered some Jamison ammo today also, I'll let y'all know

I just love to see all these Mod40's. I have another one coming in early next week also, anybody have an extra 4"BA or two laying around? Pete, the wood on yours is nice, chatoyantsie always gets me. 
 Depth to the wood, like Tigerseye gemstone.

Nice 40 Dave .. that flame cut is nothing. Research shows that the flame cutting will go on for about halfway through the topstrap and then stops (on a Dan - cuts through like butter on Ruger Blackhawks).

I agree Stinger, very minor cutting and cylinder/hand have very little wear also. I need to get a large EWK wrench soon.
And calmly waiting for ammo !!

Yes, anything over 2 of the same model is DWAS. Â Anything over 5 of different models is also DWAS. IMHO.Â
Flame cutting half way through would bother me. Anything more than a sixteenth of an inch would indicate a well used gun.Â
