Hi Guys,
As some of you know here awhile back I had a bullet stuck in my 445 barrel. The primer fired but the powder did not ignite. I think the problem was a flash hole that was plugged. Anyway following some well intentioned advice I purchased a wooden dowel and tryed to beat the bullet out. As it was wedged only about one inch pased the cone I thought this was good advice. Only problem was.....I had a Hornady 300 gr XTP in there and the hollow point just got driven into the wood. Then the wood broke.
Â
Well I do know when enough is enough and sent it off to a certain person in Charles City, Iowa that has a well earned reputation for working on Dan's. The tree was removed. Got it back a few days ago and went shooting yesterday...Dang but I do love my Dan. Shoots better with out the tree in it.Â
Anyway got this poem in my email today. Not sure who wrote it....hehehe
Thought you fellas may enjoy it...

AÂ Poem:
Â
In order to be happy and feel alive,
It is important to own a .445.
Â
It's substantial presence and
massive blast,
makes one forget those guns of the
past.
Â
One day a box came and what did I
see;
but a .445 that was sprouting a
tree.
Â
I took it apart with a laugh and a
sigh,
then drove the tree out with root
killer applied.
Â
The .445 finally found it's way
home,
to shoot hollow points, flat nose
and bullets shaped like domes.
Â
The .445 will sprout trees no more,
and the owner will shoot it 'til his
hands get sore.
Â
At the range some people get a
little nosey,
but I would really like the
gun fired by Nancy Pelosi.
Â
She would hold it loose then release
the lead,
the barrel would flip up and hit her
head. (hehehehehe)
Â
One thing for sure that ain't no
jive,
You need a Great Big Dan to feel
alive........
