OfflineI will do my best.
Any small frame shroud will work on any small frame DW. Except Pork chops
Any large frame shroud will work on any large frame DW. Except a few have two alignment pins, this can be remedied.
Any super mag shroud will work on any large frame DW.ÂÂ
A large frame shroud will fit on a super mag but the ejector slot will be too short not allowing the cylinder to close and latch.
Odd barrel lengths and some compensated models may also be exceptions.ÂÂ
Anyone who sees an error in my conclusions please speak up.

OfflineThe ejector rod must have been replaced with a 44 mag or else the cyl won't close.  Either that or someone  milled out the slot to  accept the longer rod.

Offlineits GB item 737810971. the frame has a 445 set #, but the shroud is marked .44 mag. the shroud is ported. i thought i read this shroud wouldn't work for the reasons you stated. plus i read SM barrels were heavier and wouldn't screw into a regular frame. so I thought a std barrel would be too small for a SM frame. too bad, as i'm trying to fins a 445 like and can afford. LOL. may be awhile. this one docent look "kosher".

OfflineThe answer simply takes a closer look...the seller hasn't got a clue. It's a 744 frame and shroud. Who knows where these folks pick up their model numbers??

I believe it says 44 S (as in 44 stainless).

OfflineAnd I guess there's too much 60's residue floating around in me...caught the serial number but nor the model...SIGH.

. You can use a large frame ejector rod in a super mag though to solve the problem. I have a couple just in case I decide to do so. They just will not push cases all the way out.
