2010 was a very special year in collecting Dan Wesson revolvers. As 2011 rolled around the year has started out with an even more special touch as I have worked with Jaggman on a swap that has allowed both of us to reach certain goals in our collecting and shooting of these fine revolvers. Jaggman approached me a little while back with a proposition and I countered with something that would even better the deal for him from the original proposition. I have traded off with some additional collateral and my NIB 7414 Norwich revolver for his 414 #1 gun from Monson. What 2010 brought to me was the opportunity of experimental 414-2. So now the Monson 414-1 and Palmer 414-2 can be photographed side by side for probably the first time ever. I wish to have accomplished better photos but alas time and settings were not on my side as of late so not to further retain from posting Post # 2000. Here we go:
Monson 414-1
Palmer 414-2

I cannot express my appreciation enough to Jaggman for allowing this to be a team effort and look forward to his counter post of a cool treat for all. Thanks to all the members who have become a part of my family.

I must say SMF is a fine gentleman and there could not be a better home for the 414-1. I know I will visit frequently just to say "Hi" to my baby as she grows old with her other family members....
This Forum is truly a great family of Dan Wesson fans. Wish we all were closer so we could meet.

Man, I've gotta tell ya...you have given me a serious here this morning! I've got a big funnel under my chin, with a rain gutter downspout going from there to a 5 gallon bucket......the bucket's half full so far.
hehe
Seriously though, it's great to see such a pair in pics together, thanks for showing them off.

OK Phil, now here's the question; have either of those been fired. Looks like #1 has been, but maybe not #2?
You're going to force me (out of embarrassment) to break down and fire one of my sequentially numbered 7414's.

It is nice to see the bonding that happens when strangers become friends.
lets hope we can some day arange to meet at some central gun show.
What we need to do is convince Dean to invite us all out to his super silhouette range for a shoot-together. Everyone could set aside a week to allow 2 days driving time each way and 3 days of shooting. I'm sure he could arrange a group discount for rooms somewhere in the area. We do that sort of thing for the PSA (Photographic Society of America) and the ACNA (Audi Club North America) events; why not for the DWF (OK, you all know that one, right).
Dean, put your gun away. It was just an idea; no need to get upset.

I would embrace the opportunity to get together at Dean's range as a DWF group someday. About 8-hour trip for me, that's all. We just need to all agree on a time to do it, that could be the challenge with ereryone's schedule.
Mike,
You need to shoot one of those 7414's, after all you have the ammo

Okay, here's the deal. I have been hosting a shoot for the members of Specialty Pistols website since 2006 (we missed one year) and we are having one this year also. I will now make it a combined SP/DWF shoot for this year. The dates are MAY 4-7 at our fine range in Crittenden, KY. That is Wednesday through Saturday. It was originally set up as a chance to learn about silhouette and meet SP members.
Details can be found here

and more will be added soon there. I will try to get something posted here tomorrow, but basically, we have a covered firing line, 10 concrete benches to shoot from, and steel targets for .22 handguns and up at 25-50-75-100 yards and 50-100-150-200-300 meters. Four days of shooting steel and it's all FREE. I don't have any pull at local hotels, but there is some reasonable places to stay about 15 minutes from the range.
How does this sound?
