I found this info in an old hardcover book on firearms I had in the office. If anyone wants a scan / pic, I'll get it done.
"The DB Wesson organization shipped its first gun a 357 magnum in Aug 1970, first 22 shipped under the wesson name in June 1979, and the first 44 in Jan 1981"

Interesting, according to this article the "expected shipping date of April 1980" ...
...it looks as if the release date did in fact get pushed back until Jan of '81.
Regardless, you made me realize that I screwed up my dates in the "numbers" thread...how embarrassing.
That's what I get for posting it all at once & late a night.
Gotta go fix my boo-boo's now. 😛
