Yeah, I don't know if I'd want to try that. With my luck, the bullet would boomerang & come back to smack me in the back of my head.

Frankly, firing without the B/A installed sounds incredibly stupid.
I went to a bookstore and asked the saleswoman "Were is the Self Help Section?" She said if she told me, it would defeat the purpose.

I think what they wanted to know is what the shape of the bullet would be if there was no forcing cone to reshape the bullet. I'm facinated to learn the bullet deforms, melts and reconstitutes. Maybe semi autos deserve more of my attention, but their not as sexy.

The velocities of 375-600 out of the cylinder are interesting as well. Nothing but the crimp if any to allow pressure to build. And the statement about leading the threads in the receiver. I would have thought that the bullet would have cleared the threads before becoming that unstable but I can imagine that the cylinder doesn't offer enough support to the projectile to create any servicable utility. Lucky guy had Dan Wesson on hand to offer what must have been pro bono gun smithing.
