I've been tempted to get a 10mm 1911 for some time now, because of the ballistics potential, but I need another caliber like a hole in the head.
I completely understand! I've always resisted getting a new caliber (though I've somehow ended up with a bunch of calibers).
But - last December I impulsively bought my first 10mm - the Bruin. Love that pistol, and became an instant 10mm fan. In April, I decided I needed to explore the possibilities for a Commander-size 10mm, and I pulled the trigger on a Tisas Yukon. This reinforced my enthusiasm for 10mm, and I fully expected to get another one at some point.
When I saw the price on the LNIB Specialist at the gun show yesterday, it was a no-brainer. "Need" was not a consideration!
My suggestion: If you've been tempted to get a 10mm 1911 - get one! I have found that I get over "buyers remorse" much faster & easier than "wish-I-had-bought-that" remorse!

Jim, Did you come up to DeRidder? I heard it was a sad showing with only two or three gun tables... I haven't been to the that show since the first one and I rarely go to the LC show anymore...
BTW- My Pointman 7-10 receives regular days out of the safe- I agree 10mm is a blast (pun intended).
Technically, the glass is always full; half liquid, half air....

Hi Ron,
Yes, I went up to DeRidder. I had never been to that show before, and just happened to see a yard sign advertising it, so decided to check it out. Overall, the show was a bust. There weren't but a few gun sellers, and they were mostly pushing plastic-fantastics & AR's. I would have been disappointed at having made the drive up there (an hour each way) for nothing, but finding the Specialist changed my whole perspective. I came home happy!
I probably won't go to that show anymore, unless I just really haven't got anything better to do when it comes back around.
Regards,
Jim

Can I ask how much was it?
Asking price was $1700. We haggled a bit, and he dropped the price to $1500 and threw in four boxes of Federal 180 gr. FMJ ammo. The pistol is absolutely pristine. The seller said he had shot about 30 rounds through it at most, and I believe him. I could see no trace of evidence it had ever been fired at all.
Maybe the best gun deal I've ever made!

Jim
