I recently picked up a PM7-10 and have the opportunity to get one in either 9mm, 40S&W, or .45.  The best answer is to get all three, but realistically, which one would be first on your list and why?

Ron

In this order:

.45-Classic

9mm-to shoot a lot

I guess I left one out, huh?

When I got my PM-1S, I didn't pay much attention and thought I was getting a PM7. I just knew it was a Stainless DW 1911 in .45 for a good price.

I went to a bookstore and asked the saleswoman "Were is the Self Help Section?" She said if she told me, it would defeat the purpose.

I would get the 9mm they are harder to come by , the others you can get at anytime. Lately there have been some 9's available but they are in short supply and will soon be gone. I think they only make 50 per year.

Plus they are great to shoot!

Thanks- I hear ya Steve; I have enough plastic 40s already, but since I already reload for them- I thought maybe.. Of course, I can always get a .40 barrel fitted to the 10mm, too.

If you are going to get a 1911, it might as well be a 45 laugh.... I'm on the hunt for a PM9 (9mm).  I have the 10mm, and the 45 already.

I may be joining you Shoot.  I already have a few 1911s in .45 (Kimber, Para) so I'm leaning toward a 9, myself.  Was there a PM7-9 or are they all PM9 designation?

As far as I know--they are all PM9... last one I saw on GB sold higher than a new one from CZ/DW.

I have the PM7-45 and it is far and away my most treasured firearm.  It never jams, and it is wickedly accurate.  Plus it is just plain a beautiful firearm.  I would go with 45 caliber because that is what the 1911 platform was really designed for.  The 1911 platform and 45 caliber are kind of like the distance to first base in baseball -- perfect.
