I ordered a new Dan Wesson Commander Classic Bobtail and was just notified by my dealer that it was delivered to him a few minutes ago. I had to tell him I will be in first thing on Monday morning to pick it up as my wife has got me knee deep in "honey do" list for today.

She works all week, and on weekends she likes to do her yard work and other jobs around the outside of the house. In this case, she needs me to do a lot of tree cutting with chainsaw. I was good enough to tell her "no problem" Wife (boy, did I lie there), and would stay around and help her out today. Whipping

I guess another two days will not hurt me too much to wait.

Once I get it home, I will test it out and take a few pics. I already have a nice set of Esmeralda's grips picked out that I want to get for it too!

Sounds like you made the SMART choice. However just to poke fun at Wife chainsaw out a wooden pistol and stick it in your belt and wear it around the yard all day.  Wink It might depend on the wife's sense of humor though.Whipping

Try this next time; it works for me.

"Hey Hon, let's take a break and go out to lunch."

"OK."

Then on the way home:

"Let's stop by the gun store and see if my gun is in."

"OK."

I've had mine for about 3 hours now, having bought it this morning at a gunshow. I hope to take it to the range tomorrow. Congratulations  - on Monday - on yours.

zoommb,

Nice try. The wife already said she wanted to go out for dinner tonight. We just got back. Unfortunate for me, it was the opposite direction to the gun shop! Cry

I will have to say this in her defense, she told me to go get the gun shortly after I posted on this forum. She said we were caught up enough, and to leave her finish. I was not about to do that. I know better then that!

I stuck it out and finished the job and took her out to dinner and shopping this evening. I will have to pick it up on Monday as planned. It's a shame, because it was a beautiful day today, and going to be in the low 60's tomorrow. Perfect for shooting the new CBOB. Monday we are calling for rain and colder weather again.

At least I have my shooting range at home here down below the back of the house for pistols and .22 shooting. As soon as it clears up, I will be out there. Might even try doing a little off-hand with umbrella in one hand.Range Time

WOW that's amazing.  Buy a gun at a gun show and take it home and go shooting 3 hours later.

--OR--

Go out in your back yard to shoot.  Incredible.

You guys must live in heaven.

I have one range set up for high power rifle. The range is 100 yards shooting from a bench rest.

The .22 range is set at 40 yards and 80 yards.

The handgun range has 3,5,7,10,15 and 25 yard marks set in the ground with marked pvc pipes, and the target is constructed of pvc for braces, wood removable frame with cardboard backing.

All ranges have a good dirt birm for backstop.

I do feel very fortunate because we live in the country, and the "neighbors" are far enough away and have their own shooting ranges as well so we all know when each are shooting. You can sit on the porch and hear one shooting, then another, and then you find yourself grabbing your weapons and setting up. sort of like passing a bakery. Once you smell the bread, you got to have some!
