It has fiber optic front sight, Bomar target rear, and you noticed the skeletonized hammer and trigger (set @ 3 lbs), also has FLGR and 20# Wolff recoil spring and a few other nice things internal.

Waldo, very cool pics there. That looks like an awesome DW that deserves its own spread in next year's calendar. It is so cool that you can still choose your serial number at DW. That makes the pistol unique in its own right. We'll wait now for a range report on the new toy when you receive it.

Keith said at 50' it connected holes from ransom rest with 180 gr HC L/SWC, which means it more accurate then I'll ever be with the gun.
What's also cool is I have order in for basic CBOB that starts production sometime after the first of the year. I came real close to putting my 715 on the forum for sale and ordering new one to replace it, but wasn't sure that the wife would not use it on me.

Got the RZ this morning and the pictures don't do it justice, and the gun has a drop dead beautiful trigger to boot.
Now if we could just get some clear warmer weather, and not all this rain.

Well I got some nice 60 degree weather and put 50 rounds of my mild hand loaded ammo that I loaded just to break in the gun, 165 gr JHP from Zero over a mild load of #9 powder touched of by CCI primers. All fifty were perfect feed, fired and ejected, I found all cases but one on the out door range where I was shooting.
I didn't check for pin point accuracy as yet, but was able to hit milk jug out to about 50 yards as it moved farther out with each hit. I can tell gun is far more capable then me and will give me years of plinking fun.
Now for a strange comment about 1911's in general, ease of shooting and effect on arthretic hand. I owned two very nice 3rd gen S&W 1006 & 1086 that one magazine of 10mm ammo would leave shooting hand sore next day, my 1911's don't for some reason unless I shoot 100 plus rounds. Any idea's besides grip angle, 45APC 1911's hurt my hand so it's not angle.

I run 180's out of the Delta 10 and 230's in the SR 45 and my 10's seem
more recoil to me. Even with dumb down factory 10mm ammo at 1000fps
it seems like more recoil than regular .45 230grn hardball.
Your RZ is flat backed and bobbed is it possible your 45 has
a A1 mainspring housing ?
Are you running standard 16 lb recoil spring in the .45 and could it be
wore ?
If the 16lb spring is OK or new, try a 18 lb recoil spring.
..... that's all I got .

Well sold the last couple 45 couple years ago and all were straight back guns, my DE's have the palm swell. Steel in old DE and plastic in the new one that's at Colt after barrel failure. All were stock springs list by Colt as 16.5# ecept one '70's series custom with 18 lb spring.
I load JHP's in 135, 155, 165, 170, 175, 180 and 200 grain and shoot mostly 155 and 165, with a few 180's for now, the 135 & 200 grain loads are hot loads for G2 Contender 10" barrel and the 135's are doing about 1800FPS, talk about loud and lots of barrel flip. The 135 almost explode when they hit something solid, blows most of the wood out of a bowling pin at 25 yards

Here are the pic's of couple targets from first outing, no bench rest was used, all shot either standing or using both elbows resting on shooting bench. The 6x10 man targets were at about 18 to 20 feet rest 25 yards. Now at 67 I don't shoot as well as I did 40 years ago, or even 10 years ago for that matter, but I give it hell and have fun.
The 3lb. trigger will take getting used to for fast fire, had 4 or 5 unintended firings first time out, but only one second time. However only fired one magazine second time out so I not there yet, still need more practice.
